subject: a fragment of a modernist museum as an installation for paintings by Arnout Kilian (NL), Glen Rubsamen (USA) and Frank Bauer (D)
description: we live in an artificial reality. Our inner lives are drenched with images of better worlds that the mass media pour out over us. These images colour our desires as well as our experiences. In the Vleeshal paintings are being shown that show this artificial reality. To show the ambiguity of this ideal yet artificial reality as an architectural experience, the exhibition is on display in a fragment of a modernist museum. It is a 1:1 model of a building where the facade is still standing but the inside could only partly be reconstructed.
